Everytime you visit a website or receive an email etc, information (or data) is transfered from a computer (server)where the information is stored, to your computer, this action involves data transfer.
If you are considering any broadband package that has a data transfer limit, please ensure you understand the limits and what happens (i.e. additional charges or restricted service etc that the ISP applies for going over your limits) before signing up.
Our data transfer allowances
What happens if I exceed your data transfer limits ? If you exceed the peak time limits of our current packages you have 3 options.
1. Pay as you go for addtional data transfer: If your peak time data transfer limit is reached, your broadband connection will be restricted to 128Kbps. You can then visit your billing area and pay for additional data transfer. You broadband speed is restored.
2.Prepay for additional data transfer: You chose a limit to which you are willing to pay (e.g. £10) should you exceed your data transfer limit. If you should reach your peak time data transfer limit, you will be notified and the additional data transfer level becomes active. IF YOU DO NOT REACH YOUR LIMIT THEN THE MONEY IS UNTOUCHED.
3. Do nothing and wait until your package reaches the end of the month when your data transfer levels restart and your broadband speed resumes to its normal level.
What happens in the following months ? Your package and data transfer levels begin again.
The Average Family For the average family we would recommend the 30Gb peak package £17 plus VAT per month .
Changing Packages In most cases you can move from one package to another either up or down free of charge. Each move will only start at the beginning of a payment month.
